Coccyx

The Coccyx is a triangular bone structure found at the base of the vertebral column. It is made up of between three and five bony segments held in place by joints and ligaments. An injury to the coccyx can cause pain and discomfort in the tailbone region from bruising, dislocation or fracture. These injuries will usually heal with minimal treatment, but the process can be a slow one.
