Refractory Headache

Refractory Chronic Migraine (RCM) is a challenging illness which can be debilitating to the sufferer. RCM usually develops because of one or more of the following known risk factors: obesity, excessive caffeine use, poor sleeping habits, stress and overusing medication.

Medication can be used to treat PCM, but only in conjunction with the patient working to manage their triggers. Those with central sensitization syndromes such as fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, PTSD and many personality disorders can also be at an elevated risk of RCM.
